For Astrology |
The simple minds of science on this newsgroup unthinkingly hoot a
standard set of dimwitted derisions at Astrology. In its more
exoteric aspects Astrology draws significance between events on earth
and events in space. The fact that there is little or no gross
physical interaction between celestial and earthly events is quite
irrelevant. Astrology is not concerned with physical events. For
example, the synchronicity of it being your birthday today and
winning a prize with the same numbers on the winning ticket as your
birthday, is the particular type or realm of events under
consideration. These events are not physicaly significant but
experientially or emotively significant. The association with
constellations is not physically significant but experientially or
emotively significant, and these star systems are particularly
effective in this respect.

How 'bout dark matter?
Dark matter, gravity, tachyons... the point is, is that astrology is
not concerned with physical causation. If you say that astrology can
be founded on physical causations then that is to strip astrology of
its significance to spiritual destiny. In that case, astrology would
become no more than a lottery ticket for cash or some other reward.

My view is that it is a mistake forme astrologists, and their
critics,
to look to 'prediction' as prediction of physical events.
Prediction
is of experiential matters, while t associated physical event is
not
important, as long as the experiential aspect is the same.
So I think I cannot agree with you because of your idea 1) that
prediction is of physical events, 2) that astrology is based on
physical interactions between earthly and celestial events. On that
score, I am afraid the critics are right. However, I think that you
and the critics have a mistaken impression of astrology.

I know that known planetry and star systems interact with our
psyche
to
influence the destiny of Earth and its inhabitants, but one must
not
overlook the influences of other large and small heavenly bodies
that
have, as yet, not been detected. Psychic interactions with massive
gas
clouds, white giants, red dwarfs and black holes surely effect
world
events and, just as surely, smaller heavenly bodies (constituted by
asteroids, comets and meteors) influence the outcome of the lives
of
psychic inhabitants of our world.

Astrological predictions of world events using known systems have
proved to be remarkably accurate but sometimes (freely admitted by top
astrologists) predictions at the personal level may unaccountably be
in error regarding some specifics of an individual's outcome.
Better identification and definition of the orbits of the smaller
heavenly bodies, will soon enable Astrologists to refine their analyses
and make predictions for individuals comparable in accuracy with those
presently made for world events. The frequency of such accurate
predictions will be irrefutable and Astrology will take it's deserved
place with the hard sciences, to be used for the betterment of
mankind!take it's deserved place take it's deservewill achieve the of y
