On "Soul Food" |
For those interested in "Soul",
here is a good article on a particular
"Soul food" :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_C
Notice the present active research,
and the use in cancer treatment.
Our body expects this stuff to be around.
A universal genetic defect in humans screws
up internal production.
An earlier post considered genetic
engineering as a fix.
Other "Soul foods" are coffee and cocoa.
What "Soul foods" have you considered?

You. For instance, how would you define this "soul?"

You. For instance, how would you define this "soul?"
Mainly, the medieval false folk lore personification theory
on brain state qualia, often referred to as "feelings".
One "feels" poorly when one has scurvy, or even
just a shortage of the nutrient "vitamin C".
"Soul foods" quickly influence "feelings".

On a cautionary note:
Vitamin C is all well and good, if you're healthy.
The effects of Vitamin C on a biology which is already
tending towards the acidic should be a factor when
opting for foods with this supplement.
What is it they say about too much of a good thing?
Most processed drinks will come with copious amounts
of the ubiquitous Vit C, the same with most cereals.
The same thing seems destined for Folic acid (B9)
and its inclusion in certain processed staples, but
that's a whole other can of worms...
Vit E wil also combats free radicals.

That's a great marketing opportunity for genetic eugenicists - rather
than ingest 'vitamins' to counter the symptoms of our "genetic defects",
change the genes instead.
