Taken from Peikoff's attempt to define Objectivism:
"When a savage who has not learned to speak declares...when he declares...he
is asking..." (Sounds like one inquisitive non-talking communicator) p.11
"Philosophy is a human need, without which man cannot obtain his food or
anything else his life requires. To satisfy this need, one must realize that
philosophy is a system of ideas." p.2 "It is the science that guides men's
conceptual faculty." p.2
"Science is systematic knowledge gained by the use of reason based on
observation." p. 35
"Metaphysics is the branch of philosophy that studies the nature of the
universe as a whole." p 3
"The task of identifying the nature of physical objects as they are..does
not belong to philosophy, but to physics." p44 (so metaphysics is physics?)
The senses "have no power of choice, no power to invent, distort, or
deceive." p40 "The function of the senses is to sum up a vast range of
facts, to condense a complex body of information-which reaches our
consciousness in the form of relatively few sensations." p41 (no distortion
there!)
Plenty more where they came from.
