Up The Creek With Bad Cliches |
Iraq presents a hydra-headed monsterous passel of problems
I'll cite and then modify a few cliches that semi-depict reality
Between a rock and a hard place
In a quagmire of quicksand and harsh places
No good deed goes unpunished
What is a good deed is reative and subjective
Never cry wolf
Upon encountering a wolf, it's appropriate to scream, but a lie may get
ya killed later
Good money after bad
More borrowed money after more borrowed money
.

Don't get into a land war in Asia.
If Iraq is considered part of Asia too, then by-gosh MacArthur is
prescient again.
Listen to the generals
Generals who don't get with my program may duly retire with full
benefits.
Iraq's army must make a team effort.
Iraq's army is inherently not a team.
It is not about civil war.
An outside terrorist attacks the major sect's mosque to foment war
between the sects
Shite happens
Watch for falling feces
