Up to December 31, 2005, I always read the Bible in the following way:
1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face
of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from
the darkness.
5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the
evening and the morning were the first day. (Genesis 1:1-5)
But on December 31, 2005, it occurred to me to read the Bible in the
followin way:
1In the beginning I created the heaven and the earth.
2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face
of the deep. And my Spirit moved upon the face of the waters.
3And I said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4And I saw the light, that it was good: and I divided the light from the
darkness.
5And I called the light Day, and the darkness I called Night. And the
evening and the morning were the first day.
Reading the Bible in this way, I realized that God, in the first person, is
informing me, in the second person. For example, I can write something to
you in two different ways:
1) Up to December 31, 2005, Francisco always read the Bible in a way that
made him feel alienate from God. But on December 31, 2005, he discovered a
way to read the Bible that does not make him feel alienated from God.
