Object: A great idea for Google!
As I posted in another thread,
It would be interesting and useful,
if some edu research group plotted the geographical distribution
of the rudest people in the newsgroups,
so that one could correlate the locations with the demographics,
and get some idea of how race, religion, income, climate,
school systems, size of cities, etc.
affect rudeness.
It would be even more interesting and useful,
if rather than tagging posts with stars,
Google would tag posts by ISP and location, and allow folks to
tag posts by "rudeness", "vulgarity", "funny", "brilliant", etc.
and then make it easy for folks to create overlays that
show the relationships between qualities
and geography and Internet Service Provider,
and the demographic data on race, religion, education, wealth, etc.
No doubt it would be of great value to society
if positive and negative social traits could be isolated.
"MIAMI (AP) - For the second consecutive year, rude Miami drivers
have
earned the city the title of worst road rage in a survey released
Tuesday.
Other cities near the top of the rude drivers list were New York,
Boston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
The most courteous drivers can be found in Portland, Ore.;
Pittsburgh;
the Seattle-Tacoma area; St. Louis; and Dallas-Fort Worth.
Portland drivers were the least likely to see other motorists
tailgating on the roadways,
and St. Louis motorists were the least likely to swear at another
driver, according to the survey.
Minneapolis-St. Paul was rated the most courteous city in 2006 but
fell to No. 12 this year."
View the demographic maps at the following web site
to see how religion and demographics correlates with rudeness.
