Object: A partical moving though a magnetic field
I was hoping some one could check my logic here.
Situation
A particle of mass m having positive charge q is initially traveling
with
velocity v . At the origin of coordinates it enters a region between y
= 0 and y = h containing a uniform magnetic field B directed
perpendicular out of the page.
(a) What is the critical value of v such that the particle just
reaches y = h? Describe the path of the particle under this condition,
and predict its final velocity.
This partial will move in a semi-circle and almost touch h then come
back out of the field with the same velocity as it had when it
entered. with just J components.
(b) Specify the path the particle takes and its final velocity if v is
less than the critical value.
Same thing as (a) but it has a smaller velocity
(c) Specify the path the particle takes and its final velocity if v is
greater than the critical
value.
This will pass through the field and have a new slower velocity with I
and J components
Any Suggestions??

Repeat: What is the critical value of v?
Have you answered the question, "What is the critical value of v?" ?????
