Object: An Amusing Statement About Scientific Accuracty
A student at Iowa State University wrote to thirty-seven scientists
who had published research studies. He requested their data for
verification. Five did not answer, and twenty-one of the so-called
scientists said that their data was lost or that some accident made it
inaccessible. - from www.odd-info.com

That's not the whole story. In certain fields, it is very common to
ask for data for "verification", when the real purpose is to get a
jump on a hot research project. Only a very naive and inexperienced
scientist would ever send data to someone else, even AFTER the
manuscript was published - ESPECIALLY someone who clamims to be a
"student". There are often many little "tricks" that have been
acquired by hard work, and other scientists (rather unethically) try
to get these for free.

The biggest secret, exposed for eternity but privy to only a few, is
that the whole mainstream thought paradigm runs on complete mythology
and always has. Most of the "research" in theoretical physics,
astrophysics is completely bogus, as is most of everything else
outputted by "Academia" and affiliate research organizations.
Contributions of significance have almost always originated by
outsiders, everything else being deliberate obfuscation of nothingness
or disguised plagiarism of the already established. One should ask
why these structures even exists in the way that it does, rather than
accept it and its output by default.
Find a scientist that understands the Apollo moon landings were a
complete fraud. That you cannot indicates the lack of scientists but
the abundance of frauds.

Well, I was following you right up to that last paragraph. I bet you believe
that 9/11 was an inside job too.
All through the 1960s, my dad designed and built instruments for the moon
shot: potentiometers for ground controls as well as spacecraft controls, and
instruments for the astronaut's backpacks. Still on the moon is part of a
device that allowed the LEM to lift off the pad without tipping over, by
spooling out cables that connected to sensors that fed attitude information
back to the thrust control circuits for the critical first 20 feet or so,
that was deemed too touchy for manual control.
Considering all of the complex and expensive engineering that my dad, and
countless other of his colleagues and co-workers were doing, focused very
much on real engineering tasks producing mil-spec products that actually had
to work, it would have been far, far, easier to fly to the moon than to pull
off such an elaborate hoax.

And it would have been such a shame to have done all of the
engineering and then decide, well let's not go let's just make a
hoax...
It was an amazing feat. I am an astro-engineer and I am NOT in awe
that they went to the moon - I guess I believe the aerospace industry
we have now could do it without too much trouble - but how FAST they
developed the program - THAT was amazing.
Now a days they would have gone from Kennedy's announcement to landing
and would still have been arguing over the requirement specs. Those
guys were real doers. Your dad was on one hell of a team.

Who put the cube corner arrays on the moon, Schoenfelch?

The cumulative effort of thousands if not hundreds of
thousands of people, scientists among them, but also
rocket builders, refiners, specialists in such areas as
pumping and tubing, and high-quality optics manufacturers.
Presumably, the paperwork for something such as the Saturn
V was voluminous at the time (and is hopefully still
around in some form, probably microfiche). For the US
side, that paperwork will include life support systems --
has to, since the engineers for Apollo 13 had a little
problem to solve using nothing but the equipment on board
the spacecraft, equipment that would have to be carefully
catalogued prior to launch. It's an interesting issue
that they had to solve the problem they did -- wouldn't
it have made more sense to standardize the adaptors,
in retrospect? -- but solve it they did, and the men
returned safely.
If the moon landings were a fraud, they were a *very*
extensive and impressive one, considering the mountains
of such evidence -- and that does not include the actual
samples brought back from the Moon, about half a ton's
worth.
The same could be said about the theoretical physics
efforts. There's scads of work in constructing a modern
accelerator (the LHC in particular). This work includes
a lot of detail in the detector areas.
There is, of course, fraud -- but not in this area,
at least not major enough to invalidate the results.
The military-industrial complex might have a more endemic
problem in other areas such as military spacecraft, but
that's a different issue.

The evidence is there to view on the surface... foot prints, tracks,
landers, buggies and other equipment. There is evidence laying about
on the earth from every aspect of the Apollo program. Copious images
taken from the lunar surface with handheld cameras, people alive who
made the trip, thousands of people alive who participated in the
building, and operation of the missions, hundreds of pounds of lunar
samples. Lunar laser ranging via the corner reflectors left by the
Apollo astronauts continues to this day.
