Androcles? |
Androcles has not been heard from since Feb 24, which is unusual. Given
that he had mentioned some health concerns, I wonder if anyone has seen
evidence he is still up and at it?

Kind of you mention.
I was wondering myself.
Not like him to be overcome by a fit of restraint.

Androcles built a time machine and is now a thousand years ahead of you SRians.

And if that were true, he'd be about eleven hundred years ahead of you
ballisticians.

Don't be so stooopid Henri. Androcles *could* time travel into the future,
but you wouldn't know it till you go there yourself. Time travel into the
past, of course, is not possible. However, we can look into the past with
our telescopes. Well hell, I can see the Andromeda Galaxy as it was 2.3
million years ago with just my naked eye--just not with as much detail as
with good optics.

That's not 'time travel'. It is 'communication delay'.
It's equivalent to reading an email posted yesterday.

Loud and stupid Androcyst was crushed by physical reality. If the git
comes back to soil our parlor he will be crushed again, and with
greater vigor. The Net does not censor, it compartmentalizes.
Androcyst has no place here.

Unless I am mistaken, he is posting as Don1, unless Don1 is an
interloper on Don Shead's email address.

Hey, Dirk, if you're willing to share the knowledge, drop me a line. I'm
curious -- I spent a lot of hours arguing with Androcles before we both
got sick of it.
His website's vanished too, or has moved to a new address, as I'm sure
you're aware.
To send email replace "nospam" with "physicsinsights", as in "pragmatist
at physicsinsights dot org". (As the sig implies there's also contact info
on the website, of course.)
My own complete absence for the last few months is less mysterious -- I've
been attempting to learn French, and haven't had the time to either read
or argue about physics. What with the day job I can't manage much more
than one "night class" at a time so physics has gone on hold.
