Hi everybody
Did anyone read the book "The physics of the Violin" (The MIT Press) by
Lothar Cremer ? I meet some troubles in the chapter 5 : "Extension of
Helmoltz Motion using Corrective Waves".
Some questions : why is there a numeric factor 2 in the equation 5.1 ?
Page 92 There is an affirmation : If v1(t) represents a unit step, then
v0(t) begins with a step smaller by a factor of epsilon. In equation
5.28 the differential relation between v1 and v2 is
epsilon*(dv1/dt)=(dv0/dt)+(v0/tau0)
I solved this equation with the green function, but with no initial
contition on v0 i don't see how to prove the assumption cited above !
There are some more...
I'm aware of the fact that you need the book to answer to these
questions so If needed i can send pdf copies of the chapter very soon.
Otherwise, if someone is a master of the Method of the round trip of
the rounded corner, i could reformulate the questions.
Thanks by advance to every contributor !
