G'day Don,
A lot of that water would be in the form of water
vapour, which is invisible?? CLEAr?
.. My understanding is that
it wouldn't reflect or refract*** any light at all. But I
could be wrong.???
thanks colin.
yes water vapour does refract light
because speed of light is (not in vacuum.)
today is a brilliant (not VERY!) day to do
observations on small drops of water.
in the atmosphere WGTN NZ.
if the drops have 1/10th diameter there's nearly
10,ooo as many of them. (NOT 1000 why??)
they are suspended much longerr in air.
C
10 mm of rain out of 10km of atmosphere
means it is only .000,1 % water.
what per cent of light rays are diffracted or
refracted? So, I can still see a little distance.
diffraction, I think, is a wave behaviour of light.
light can go around corners (like a wave)
when it is near an edge or slit etc.
how far can you see.... I took photos.
