China plans to take its "artificial Sun" programme that uses nuclear fusion to a higher level. The nation's Institute of Plasma Physics, which handles the experiment, is in the process of doubling its present capabilities.

Plasma hydrodynamics fluctuations add rather than average - and at all
scales, tokamaks to the sun. There is no physical basis for
controlled continuous controlled thermonuclear fusion short of
containerless processing and self-equilibrium as with a star. Stars
are notoriously messy.
Pulsed fusion cannot possibly be a viable energy source. Aside from
half the released energy being 10 MeV neutrons - an engineering
screaming nightmare - having multiple $billion of PhD babysitting is
flat out daft. A boiler is a big stupid lump. That is why it
reliably works.
Nuclear reactors are run by hung-over guys in polo shirts. If you
need batallions of PhD scientists and engineers in ties to keep your
fusion powerplant running (running on paper; forget the real world),
you're fucked.

Well said Uncle
so i wonder what is that plan of
India and china based on
if it the common bulshit
they are waisting their money
and worse
the invaluable laps of time !!
ps
i wonder why sci.fusion disappeared ??!!
may be because fusion is already solved
satisfactory ........

as you know
just to spend money is not enough!!
you havwe to gamble on the right horse!
or elese you loose it !!
he real efficient device to make fusion efficiently
HAS NOT BEEN BORNE YET
it needs some deeper understanding about the
*structure of matter* !!
