Christianity Verses Science - Christians Are Irrational |
Christians are irrational. They're so irrational, and they know it, that
they refuse to allow people to refer to Christianity in print.
Christian Science - an oxymoron.
Christians - morons.
Why are these institutions allowed tax exempt status, and why are they
allowed to participate in government?

Traditional, and I stress traditional, churches get very little in tax
breaks. They serve the interests of their own local
communities mostly through volunteer efforts. Their influence is
outside the political arena and they generally don't interfere with
business. Contrast that to "non-profit" also tax exempt organizations
that collect money to buy political influence through lobbyists in
Washington D.C. which passes all kinds of laws and regulations that
often don't even make any rational sense; global warming being but the
most obvious one. I'm not very religious myself but I'll side with a
traditional church most every time over any of these other groups.

Hogwash. They're exempt from federal taxes under 501c just like any
other non-profit.

I suggest you file for such organizations to lose their tax exempt
status, then, since political activity is a violation of 501c.

Not really. Much of the US lead in science was due to foreign
scientists emigrating here before and after WWII. We pay baseball
players $20 million a year, but physicists--$104,500.
When we had tons of money we could buy whatever we needed. Now
with national debt of over 8 trillion and trade *debt* of 6.6
trillion, our "buying" days are over.
Over the next decade, you'll see a big difference in living
standards between the US and Europe. Even Canada will be much
richer than the US.

Oh, really? Let's take a look at the current crop of Nobel laureates,

Physics - John C. Mather (USA)
George F. Smoot (USA)
Chemistry - Roger D. Kornberg (USA)
Medicine - Andrew Z. Fire (USA)
Craig C. Mello (USA)
I believe they were all born in the United States.

"liberalhere@yahoo.com" <liberalhere@yahoo.com> made the phosphor on
my monitor glow in such a way as to indicate that:
BTW, is the US a net importer or exporter of food?
I don't know. I don't care. WTF difference does it make?
Are you simply displaying your continuing ignorance about
economics?
Heh, you have no idea what it means whether the US is a net
exporter or importer of food and you wonder if I'm displaying
ignorance about economics?
Yes.
Oh, and is the US population growing,
or shrinking?
It's growing.
(Hint: look up the poorest nations in the world,
see how many are self-sufficient in food.)
That's an interesting...no--make it stupid, non sequitur.
"Ya can lead a blowhard NASA consultant to vital knowledge, but
ya can't make him think."
You're a self-righteous, egotistical fool, Simberg, I wouldn't
trust you to design paperdolls.
Fortunately, youl're not in charge of what I design (not that I'm a
designer).
I'd like to think that an economic ignoramus like you isn't in charge
of anything.

No, you do that with most of your nonsensical posts, particularly when
they slander people and religions, and then you say "I'm just having
fun."

No, you do that with most of your nonsensical posts, particularly when
they slander people and religions, and then you say "I'm just having
fun."
But I am just having fun; the eternal complaint against my way of
approaching things is "You don't take anything seriously".
And you know something...they're right in that judgment.
I don't.
I take nothing in the world seriously enough to hate or kill for it, and
trust nothing in the world so greatly that I'd love it or embrace it
without question, making it a facet of my soul, and a determiner of my
actions.
I'm just walking through here, seeing the strange sights on the way.

There'd be nothing that odd in seeing a octopus while at the beach, but
if it was a beach of a freshwater lake, yes, that would be odd.
I can't very well engage in something like Chinese Maoist
