Object: combining Stern-Gerlach filters question
I calculated that if we stack 4 of these filters with 90 degrees
between each, 6.25% of the electrons pass, and if we use 8 filters with
45 degrees, 28% of the electrons pass, etc. So I tried to find how many
filters we need for 50%. It turns out to be around 14 - 15 filters.
This combined filter is equal to one filter, but what is special about
these numbers, and what is the exact solution? Thanks.
