Object: compressed air receiver flow
I am hoping someone could calculate or already have a example of the
following.
Compressed air receiver of 200 litres at 150 psi.
At one end a 1 inch valve.
Open the valve - is there likely to be five seconds of flow before the
pressure drops to 100psi
The same query with a 3/4 inch valve.
I appreciate there are some variables like temp and valve restriction
etc etc but a close figure would be okay.
Any ideas appreciated please
Thanks very much
PS If not five seconds of flow then the only thing I can do is use a
larger receiver but then how much larger.................

I believe it's very critical on valve diameter...

"The most important variable here is the radius, which, by virtue of its
elevation to the fourth power, has a tremendous impact on the resistance.
Thus, if the diameter of a tube is doubled, resistance will drop by a factor
of sixteen."

Thanks for trying to help. At least I know going from the present half
inch valve to a 3/4 inch valve will have a vast effect - trying to
avoid more un-needed machine work etc before I try it out.
Any ideas about the pressure receiver size drop....
It maybe I need a 500 litre receiver, thats okay, but before I purchase
it I would like to know if it is likely to be alright. Otherwise I'll
just go ahead and get an even bigger receiver.
Thanks

Not really my field but Google suggests the length of the pipe is going to
be important.
