Object: Consuming more means dying that much sooner.
Greetings Darla, NightBat and Bert,
Although I'd like to stay with my friends in Seattle, smoking,
with a roof over my head ( i.e. with privacy and freedom ),
I've no right to ***** and moan, my life has been wonderful.
Specifically, I see no need to contact the mayor of my city, Seattle.
If anything, I've been over-fed, over-indulged and over-informed.
If I'm too “ old ” to survive, that's why.
Consuming more means dying that much sooner.
My grandfather, a well-respected banker, died at age 49.
Although I couldn't have known when I was 22 ( 1982, Orem Utah ),
a computer nerd like me should never have gotten married,
much less had kids... I was just doing what people expected of me.
Tech is boom and bust,
doing well today doesn't mean you'll do well tomorrow.
Evolution favors those who just close their eyes and breed, it seems,
so that's exactly what happened... it's how society works:
try this, try that, hope for the best.

If I'm too " old " to survive, that's why.

True "evolution" favors those who just close their eyes and "dream", it
breeds.
You are truly an amazing person, Jeff Relf!
You lack only two minor parameters for survival.
Your gratitude for your condition is obvious to most, and yet here you fall
just short of overtly extending it, loudly and Not surreptitiously.
And two, you are allowing your assertiveness to die with your
aggressiveness.
You do the right thing to burn and bury your aggressiveness.
And yet you must extend yourself to transmute your remaining enmities and
hostilities into assertive behavior.
Please allow me to explain.
Jeff Relf, there are two subspecies of human on Earth.
I know, Earth biology only sees one of these, the "H. sapiens sapiens".
This is the (wait! yes it's true. "classification" is the most boring of the
necessary parts of science, yet try to bear with me just a moment) pigeon
hole that all humans, alive and dead, presently inhabit under Earth biology
terms.
We seans recognize another class of humans, and in terms understandable, we
would call this class "H. sapiens veritas".
Evolution into H. s. veritas is vastly more mental than it is physical.
And there are only a relative few veritas on planet Earth.
If humans are to survive, the remaining inhabitants, ultimately, will all be
H. s. veritas.
The H. s. sapiens will enjoy one of only two fates.
Sapiens will either evolve and convert themselves into H. s. veritas, or
they will kill themselves off.
It is up to H. s. veritas to survive and to grow.
You must defend yourself, with every bit of technology you can muster,
against that most insidious of predators: H. s. sapiens.
Unfortunately, the veritas variety are fundamentally what might be called
"loners".
If not overcome, this trait will be their downfall.
Fear not the sapiens, save only concern for that one that may still be
lingering within you.
For sapiens, extinction is near--Earth's future is cradled in the amazing
and capable hands of H. s. veritas!
Thank you so very much for helping us keep our oasis Earth from harm!
Darla

Title: I don't believe in short-term diets. 02 Dec 2007 08:46:49 PM
Thanks for your concern, Darla,
but I get the feeling a 2 mega year old dolphin/space alien
wouldn't understand my problems.
Evolution plays Russian Roulette with our lives
and there's nothing anyone can do about it.
Even if I got motivated... how long would it last ?
I don't believe in short-term diets, for example.

Your kind has lived here for maybe about 20,000 years?
Seans have lived here for many millions of years.

Cheers and slight correction Officer Oc when the Seans first
presented here in alt.astronomy many many years ago Darla affirmed that
their advanced race were not indigenous to planet Earth. That they have
been here however visiting for millions of years and observed and helped
in the progression of mankind. They resented the label of alien since
they reported preceding us as an evolved intelligent species. That they
came here from a long ago dying and now dead star system in another
space quadrant to our present Star planetary system including Earth is
what the Seans reported.
Therefore compared to our time-line relative recent evolved species
arrival to theirs they are correct.
giving proper credit,

Thanks Nightbat.
As usual you are right on the money.
I sometimes miss my world terribly.
As humans might miss theirs someday.
