I'm not going to design your project for you, but I will tell you how
to find cheap equipment that might be useful:
- Bowling alleys will donate "house" bowling balls with scarred
surfaces
- Water is cheap and weighs quite a bit and can be moved (with a rain
gutter) from place to place easily
- Old mattresses are a good source for springs of usable strength
- A 2x4 of rotten quality (low cost) still makes an excellent lever
- Epoxy a bike tire to a rim after removing the inner tube. Fill the
tire with buckshot and seal the hole where the valve stem would be with
epoxy. Flywheel.
- Electric shoe polishers make excellent flywheel revvers.
- Dropping dry ice in water in a closed container provides a source of
gas pressure. Careful! Explosive release is possible!
- Burning newspaper in a barrel is a good way to generate hot air.
- Any old electric motor that is cranked by hand will generate
electricity.
- A 9V battery applied to steel wool will light it on fire.
