Crafoord Prize to Sunyaev

17 Jan 2008 - the Crafoord Prize in Astronomy and Mathematics was split
between Rashid Sunyaev and two string theorists. Sunyaev is famous for
the Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect and other studies of the Cosmic Microwave
Background. Born and raised in the Soviet Union, Sunyaev is now
director of the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching near
Munich.
