Deep Impact Closing in on Comet
07.03.05 (12 a.m.) - Deep Impact's impactor and flyby spacecraft continue
imaging comet Tempel 1. Over the next two hours, the impactor may perform
targeting maneuvers to refine its path so it is on a collision course with
Tempel 1. Impact is expected at approximately 1:52 a.m. EDT. The image above
shows comet Tempel 1 as seen by the impactor, taken 1 hour 37 minutes after
the impactor was released from the flyby craft.
