deer kill collision - no car damage |
Can someone help explain this one? I hit and killed a deer at about
40-50mph. I was expecting major damage when I got out of the car.
Couldn't find any damage. The mechanic couldn't find anything. One
dead deer on the side of the road, and all I had to do was remove a
bunch of hair from the cracks around the right headlight. No paint,
dent, nor alignment damage. I feel I got really lucky.

Actually, someone was around in the area and glad to take the deer for
food. I let him take it.

What make vehicle?
It was a Subaru Outback (my mom's). Perhaps I just hit the deer on
the right side of the car in the head. It happened so quickly. I
feel lucky, because other people I know that hit and killed a deer had
lots of car damage.
I was in a prior fender bender accident that seemed less dramatic, but
had thousands of dollars worth of damage to the car. I had every
reason to believe the same after I hit the car.

Unlike totally inelastic collision. Yes?

No matter what age the deer happened to be, it is certain that it's not
ever going to be an older deer.

Tim It was a glancing blow. Deer killed because it was hit between the
eyes that drove bone fragments into the front of its brain. Don't hit a
moose, for I've a feeling you would have very bad luck. What would you
charge to run over my mother-in law?? Bert
