Object: Diverging lenses in science
Hi,
In science, what are diverging lenses used for? I know some
applications of converging lenses, but not really of diverging lenses.
Or converging and diverging lenses often used together?

If you're nearsighted, your eyeglasses or contacts are diverging lenses.
Mine have a focal length of about -10 cm, so if my glasses ever break
while I'm at work, I can just go down to the general physics lab and
borrow a couple of lenses from the optics kits. They won't do anything
for astigmatism, but they'll be better than nothing.
