Note when we say "lifetime of a muon" we mean the DECAY lifetime. That
is, for muons that don't interact. The omitted discussion is confusing
the issue by noting that muons interact with air and some "live" much
shorter times because of those interactions -- while true, that is NOT
what we mean by "lifetime". Note also that the major interaction of
muons with air is energy loss (via EM processes), and the muons are not
being annihilated or changed by the air, they are merely being SLOWED
DOWN (which changes the value of gamma and therefore the duration of
their existence measured in the earth frame).
Is this some mental aberration or does the Einsteinian really want to
destroy his criminal cult for some reason? Strange things happen in
Einstein's world.
