Object: Ecological Catastrophe Looming: Where Are The "Greenies"?
Where is "Green Peace" and the "IPCC" on this one:
http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/april2007/100407beesdying.htm
Notice how those groups only get behind "environmental causes" who's
"solutions" always result in more global consolidation and control for
Rothschild, Warburg and Rockefeller bankers?

I first heard of this l a few days ago.
It's way out of anything in my experience,
so I contacted a long time friend who is a
naturalist and amateur bee keeper. He
says both he and his apiarist club have
never heard of "colony collapse disorder"
or CCD. I don't know what to think, but
the possibility that it is an April fools joke
exists. Bee-ware!

Me too keeps bees.
Methinks it is the annual spring Loch Ness substitute pseudo news
generation for raising supporting governemental funds.
OTOH there is some probability of truth in it, as during winter
many of the beekeepers lose their existence justification due to
abnormal stupidity and learning blockades.
Those people do not recognize times have changed.
1900 and before: "Just leave them bees alone"
2000 and later: actively fight Varroatose and
Paenibacillus Larvae Larvae
BTW what has that to do with physics?

ALBERT EINSTEIN said:
If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would
only have four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination,
no more plants, no more animals, no more man.
Notice how the sheeple-minds now elevate the same information from the
status of "kookery" to the status of "plausible". soley on the basis
of who said it not what was said? :-)
Such primitive cognitive processes indicates mental retardation (on a

Oh, that... indigene Neolithic objects of tolerence starved a lot.
Canada was even worse - no honeybees, and glaciation killed off all
its earthworms. You can see Canukistani literature today decrying
ground litter being recycled into the soil by earthworms still
invading its forests, ruining 10,000 year-old clear-cut silvestrine
ecologies.
Enviro-whinerism is a simple thing. Enviro-whinerism is against

Title: Exxon's Pocket Senator Inhofe vows to put brakes on Gore's 'Live Earth' concert at the Capitol 17 Apr 2007 01:20:27 PM
http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/inhofe-vows-to-put-brakes-on-gores-live-earth-concert-at-the-capitol-2007-03-27.html
Inhofe vows to put brakes on Gore's 'Live Earth' concert at the
Capitol
By Elana Schor
March 28, 2007
Fresh from his face-to-face tussle with former Vice President Al Gore,
Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) is vowing to stall Gore's hotly
anticipated Capitol concert to draw attention to global warming.
Inhofe's belief that climate change is "the greatest hoax ever
perpetrated on the American people" is common knowledge in the
capitol, and environmental groups cheered the new prospects for carbon-
capping legislation when he ceded the Environment and Public Works
Committee gavel this session. But Inhofe's parliamentary powers can
block indefinitely the resolution that would permit Gore to choose the
capitol's West Front for the U.S. leg of his seven-continent Live
Earth concert tour - a collaboration between Gore and promoter Kevin
Wall, who masterminded previous blockbuster charity concerts Live Aid
and Live 8.
"There has never been a partisan political event at the Capitol, and
this is a partisan political event," Inhofe said yesterday.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) attempted late last week to
pass the authorizing measure for Live Earth by unanimous consent. But
Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) raised an objection on the
floor, seeking more time for his side to look at the resolution.
Inhofe appeared to see little room for an accommodation that could
allow the concert to go forward. "There's no compromise. Either we
change the rules or we don't."
Inhofe added that other members share his concerns, including unnamed
Democrats as well as Sen. Bob Bennett (R-Utah), ranking member of the
Rules Committee, which has jurisdiction over the concert resolution.
Democrats "may not be willing to stand up to Al Gore, but many of them
found it just as objectionable as Republicans do," he said.

Inhofe's latest challenge to Gore comes after their forceful exchange
during last week's hearing in the environment committee, when
Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) stepped in to stop Inhofe from
dictating terms of response to the 2000 presidential nominee. Gore
declined to sign a personal energy usage pact proffered by Inhofe.
The Mall is already booked during the July 7 date slated for Live
Earth, so the exigent need to secure use of the Capitol led Rules
Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) to support unanimous passage,
Rules staff director Howard Gantman said.
"They have made it clear that they're opposed to it," Gantman said of
the GOP. "They're blocking passage of the bill. As far as next steps,
if Republicans wanted to discuss their opposition, we would do so."
Chad Griffin, an adviser to Live Earth, was taken aback by Inhofe's
objections to using the Capitol to promote environmental health. The
West Front was used to inaugurate Earth Day in a 1990 event, for which
Gore, a former senator, sponsored the authorizing resolution.
"This is a totally non-partisan event," Griffin said, noting that Reid
cosponsored the concert resolution with Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine).
The Capitol concert would be free of charge, incurring a $5 million
cost to Live Earth. Promoters would recoup that amount if they were
forced to choose another venue, Griffin said. Reid added language to
the resolution ensuring that the Capitol Police would be reimbursed in
advance for their estimated $1.5 million in security costs.
"It was a priority for Live Earth that the taxpayers not pay a single
dime" for the show, Griffin said. "Given that, we remain optimistic."
Snowe, a longtime supporter of carbon emissions curbs who co-chairs an
international climate-change group, said yesterday that she was
surprised the concert idea had become controversial among her
colleagues. She expressed hope that concert organizers would not be
forced to move the U.S. performance out of Washington if the Capitol
proves impossible.
"That would certainly provide an unfortunate message on behalf of the
U.S., that somehow we're languishing in our desire to combat the
problem," Snowe said. "We should be a leader in this endeavor."
Reid remains optimistic that the climate-change fight can come to the
Capitol dome, spokeswoman Liz Oxhorn said.

Bennett's office did not return a request for comment by press time.

Inhofe's latest challenge to Gore comes after their forceful exchange

Title: Climate change takes centre stage in Singapore -- "perhaps the most far-reaching 'market failure' of them all" and an obvious threat 16 Apr 2007 11:31:07 PM

Climate change takes centre stage in Singapore
Tuesday Apr 17 13:08 AEST
More than 600 business executives and experts will gather in Singapore
this week for a UN-backed meeting to discuss how the corporate world
can help tackle the growing threat of climate change.
The Global Business Summit for the Environment, to take place Thursday
and Friday, will be the first major international conference focusing
on business and the environment in Asia, according to the UN
Environment Programme (UNEP).
UNEP organised the event with the United Nations Global Compact, an
initiative that brings companies together with UN and other agencies
to support environmental and social principles.
Delegates plan to examine how the private sector, governments and non-
government organisations (NGOs) can cooperate to ensure development
that balances economic, social and environmental factors, the
organisers said.
"The systematic damage and destruction of the world's forests,
freshwaters, fisheries and other economically important ecosystems are
failures of policy and failures of markets to capture the true value
of these nature-based assets," UNEP executive director Achim Steiner
said.
"Some companies now realise that future profits, if not future
viability as businesses... will be based on ensuring the
sustainability of these finite natural resources."
Steiner described climate change as "perhaps the most far-reaching
'market failure' of them all" and an obvious threat, but challenged
companies to also see it as "a real opportunity to do business
differently."
Companies around the world have been blamed for practices that have
helped to pollute the environment and contributed to climate changes
which experts warn could threaten the survival of animal and plant
species.
A key UN report released this month warned that billions would face a
higher risk of water scarcity and millions more would likely go hungry
as damage to the Earth's weather systems from greenhouse gases changed
rainfall patterns, powered up storms and boosted the risk of drought,
flooding and water stress.
"Environmental responsibility is no longer a choice," said Georg Kell,
executive director of the UN Global Compact.
"Climate change is a global problem that affects everyone.
Corporations, governments, international agencies and NGOs must work
together to address this issue."
Among the organisations to be represented at the Singapore meeting are
the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, World Wide
Fund for Nature (WWF), World Resources Institute and the Carbon
Disclosure Fund.
Speakers include Kirsi Sormunen, Nokia's vice president of
environmental affairs, Diana Bell, a senior vice president at Hewlett-
Packard, Greenpeace International director Steve Sawyer and actress
and environmental activist Daryl Hannah.
A special session on Friday will be devoted to discussing solutions to
the forest-fire haze that blankets parts of Southeast Asia each year.
Organisers said delegates will also tackle an emerging trend to invest
in biofuels, solar and wind power, and other environment-friendly
energy sources.
Managing urbanisation, promoting eco-friendly tourism, a global water
crisis, and the use of "green" materials, technology and furnishings
in the building and construction industry also will be on the agenda.
More than 1.2 billion people, or about one-fifth of the world's
population, lack access to drinking water, the organisers said,
warning that without any action this could rise to 2.3 billion people
by 2023.
A US environmental group has certified the meeting as a "carbon-free
event".
Carbon emissions from the delegates' use of energy, including from
their air travel, will be offset by funding renewable energy
development and reforestation projects in Sri Lanka and Nepal,
organisers said.

Title: Al Gore, John Doerr and Global Warming in China 16 Apr 2007 11:36:14 PM

Al Gore, John Doerr and Global Warming in China
Two years ago, along Pebble Beach's famed golf course, Yahoo co-
founder Jerry Yang and Alibaba CEO Jack Ma first broached the idea of
a partnership.
The initial talk, code named "Project Pebble," soon led to Yahoo's $1
billion investment in Alibaba, the popular Chinese Internet portal.
That game of golf took place during a summit and conference held by
Silicon Valley's Hua Yuan Science & Technology Association, better
known as HYSTA, a group representing U.S. and Chinese high-tech
interests.
This year, a large part of the group's focus will be on bringing
Chinese and U.S. entrepreneurs together to examine global warming,
with former vice president Al Gore headlining its conference in May.
"It's not just a U.S. problem," Jack Xu, conference chair and vice
president of engineering and research at eBay, said at a press preview
Monday. Even if the United States were to curb its contributions to
global warming, it won't make a difference if China doesn't as well,
he said. Gore has traveled to China to research global warming issues
there, he added.
Kleiner Perkins venture capitalist John Doerr, who has turned his
interests to green technology, will introduce Gore.
Of course, the conference will once again touch on bridging U.S. and
Chinese high-tech business. More and more Chinese high-tech companies
are making their presence felt worldwide, and U.S. companies continue
to try to make inroads in China and its 1.3 billion consumers, some
with more success than others.
Conference organizers declined to discuss the location, but said that
they will again host a round of golf, this time in Silicon Valley, for
the 50 to 60 high-tech executives attending the CEO Summit portion of
the event. But they are hoping for a Project Pebble 2.0.

SANTIAGO, Chile: A global warming seminar next month featuring Al Gore

the former U.S. vice president's office said Friday.
Chilean politicians and environmental groups had criticized Barrick's
planned co-sponsorship of the "Global Warming and Climate Change"
opening May 11 in the capital of Santiago, saying the company has a
poor environmental record.
Accounts differed on how the decision was made to remove Barrick.
"It is policy for our office to clear all sponsors of Mr. Gore's
events" based on criteria including environmental policies, Gore
spokeswoman Kalee Krieder said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.
"Unfortunately, our office was never notified by the sponsor that they
wished to add Barrick Gold as a co-sponsor and therefore it did not go
through the normal vetting process.
"When our office discovered that Barrick Gold was added ... we asked
that they be removed," Krieder added. "Our understanding was that this
request was executed on Wednesday."

important matters" at the conference.
The mining company was targeted by environmental groups last year over
a multimillion-dollar (euro) gold mining project in northern Chile.
The project was ultimately approved, though only after Barrick dropped
plans to remove a glacier sitting on top of gold deposits.

McCain Self-Destructs (10 comments )
READ MORE: John McCain, U.S. Republican Party
It is always fascinating to watch a politician screw themselves. When
it is the Democratic nominee (Dukakis answer to the Kitty/death
penalty question, or his ride in the tank; Kerry's "I voted for it
before I voted against it" while the Republicans were running flip-
flop ads against him), it is agony. When it is a Republican, it is of
course more fun for a Democrat like myself.
But to watch a politician like John McCain completely dismantle his
own carefully built brand, the sight is a little sad, even coming from
a partisan like myself.
John McCain is going through just such a ritual right now, and it sure
is ugly to watch. In the 2000 election and the three years following,
he had built a powerful, enduring brand as an American icon: proud,
independent, a feisty maverick who- most important of all- was a
straight shooter who called it as he saw it. The traditional media had
bought it, and the American public mostly bought it, too. At some
point in 2004, though, he made a fateful decision that his best path
to the presidency was to go hat in hand to the Republican Party
establishment, that he would be able to make peace with them while
continuing to convince the media and the public that he was still the
same old straight-talking maverick they knew and loved. It might have
worked if the current GOP leadership hadn't become so fattened and
arrogant in its corruption that they didn't force McCain to humiliate
himself publicly in front of them. But the strategy also toppled over
the side because of McCain himself: it turns out at his core, the
whole independent, straight-talking maverick thing was a lie. You can
fool people for awhile (see George W. Bush 2000-2004), but sooner or
later the truth will out (see George W. Bush 2005-through the rest of
history).
First, of course, was the humiliating 2004 campaign, where McCain said
whenever he was told wherever he was told to say it. Then came the
appalling cave-in on the issue so central to his biography, torture
itself. Then the public sucking-up to Jerry Falwell and other right
wing "agents of intolerance." And now this ridiculous trip to the
safe, friendly marketplace in Iraq. Did you note that McCain said on
Friday that he has "misstated" the situation? No, John, you just flat-
out lied.
Pride? Gone.
Independence? Gone.
Straight-talking? Completely and totally gone.
I'm glad Democrats don't have to worry about John McCain much anymore.
It's just painful to see a man so totally lose his soul.
