Spacetime is now an unremarkable model to aid in the analysis of
physical events, that's all. Unexotic! And even time dilation has its
unexotic analogy in the biology of hibernation. Interesting, but hardly
exotic any more.
So, to which university are physics students supposed to go to, to get
away from this "exotic" spacetime and time dilation? And what is on the
syllabus of this alternative university that is different from any
normal university physics syllabus? Why don't you give us a listing of
the physics classes offered by this alternative university.
If we look at the history of the revolutions in physics over the last
400 years, we can easily see that we need not fear the so-called
heresies of spacetime and time dilation (that Androcles fears), because
all (or at least most) of the revolutions that have occurred in physics
in that period have been introduced by people who were raised in the
dogmas of their day. Planck told physicists how to introduce a
revolution in physics.

You may have noticed (well *YOU* probably didn't notice, but
someone reading for comprehension would), that page
3 discusses an "instantaneous inertial frame" which is
only an approximation to an accelerated frame.
Pages 3 and 4 also discuss higher order terms which are
being dropped. The laws of physics are unchanged in
INERTIAL frames. An accelerated frame is not an
inertial frame but the authors are using an inertial
approximation to derive an approximate relation.

non-inertial frame, and that light moves at c to very high
approximation in a non-inertial frame, are not contradictory.
If there are problems in relativity, they are not going to
found in this kind of third-grade analysis.
