Galaxies break new records (Mar 2)

A team of astronomers has detected the most distant massive object ever
seen, a cluster of galaxies some nine billion light years away.
Meanwhile, a second group has discovered a previously hidden population
of very bright galaxies even further away, about 11 billion light years
from Earth. Both findings could shed more light on the early universe.
