Einstein is often quoted as asserting that "God does not play dice with the
Universe." What does that mean?

It means Einstein always loses so he tries to bluff at poker instead.

Title: God's dice are loaded. 30 Mar 2006 02:48:16 AM
Hi Hetware, You asked:
Einstein is often quoted as asserting that
" God does not play dice with the Universe." What does that mean ?
Einstein thought God was nature itself.
I say: I'm God's prisoner, and God to my prisoners.
At any rate,
Einstein was saying that although we don't always know what's going on,
God knows what's up, i.e. physical processes determine absolutely everything.
Or, to put it another way, God's dice are loaded.

God's dice are loaded.

Maybe, but your brain isn't.
This is a science newsgroup so when you make a statement like "God's dice
are loaded" I hope you have some form of science to support it. What is it?
While we are looking for science, where is the promised explanation of five
dimensional light/gravity etc?

It's up you *****, I'll help you look for it if you want.

Do you want to get up my *****? I am not a little teenager you know and
frankly, I don't think you are my type.
As it stands though, that is as close to a scientific explanation as you
will ever be able to produce.
Do you know anything about physics?

Well, grasshopper, it means that God, which is another name for the
Universe, has discovered in his old age that the only way to win is to
not play! (Confer "War Games", that movie where some some little tyke
almost sets arf WW tres). The doctrine is derived from Hofstader's 4
th Law:
"At this point I do not care to engage in infinite debates. Instead,
I'm merely trying to be happy."
For the canonical example of a process isomorphic to infinte useless
debate, do a self-reference to the forum urine posting in right now.
Think you.

Your profundity escapes me. I am inclined to believe Einstein was
expressing his conviction that the Universe of noumena is deterministic.

The indeterminism required by quantum theory is an artifact of the
theory and not a property of nature.
