Object: Google usenet post rating system
I want to urge my fans
to read ALL of my posts,
and to click on the star at the extreme right.
(In order to compensate for the clicks on the extreme left star
by the Zombie gang and the war instigators.)
Now the question is,
who is Google trying to rate,
the clicker or the clicke?
I suspect both,
as those Google guys are very clever.
Don't forget,
Potter - extreme right star.
Zombie - extreme left star.

"Richard Herring" raises a good point,
but unfortunately, he does not grasp
what one "learns" from googling "tom potter".
I suggest that the first lesson is that
lightning rods are not lightning.
And I suggest that the second lesson is that
the posts by others reveal more about the posters
than they do about the folks they post about.
As my Pappy used to say:
"You get better information from the horse's mouth,
than you do from a horse's *****."
The third lesson is to get your information
from the source closest to the point of interest.
If anyone wants to know about "tom potter",
or the views of "tom potter", the best way to get this
information is to visit my web site and BLOGs as they
have information that has not gone through
some horses digestive system.
And I must point out,
that this not only applies to "tom potter",
but it applies to all "lightning rods".
The bottom line is that Richard Herring's post
(LIghtning)
tells you more about Richard Herring,
(Charged cloud)
than it does about "tom potter"
(LIghtning rod).

"Richard Herring"

Nobody has ever discovered the rules governing Potter's apparently

raises a good point,
but unfortunately, he does not grasp

I suggest that the first lesson is that
lightning rods are not lightning.

And I suggest that the second lesson is that
the posts by others reveal more about the posters

Which was precisely my point.

As my Pappy used to say:

So Potter's own posts to Usenet are not in fact his views, but the
product of an equine alimentary tract? I had often suspected this, but
it's good to have it confirmed.

I am not qualified to correct your errors. The ones who are

I figured that demanding PROOF of your position would shut you up.
When a biased person is penned down for facts
that make them uncomfortable,
they shuck and jive and lie and squirm and equivocate,
and eventually shut up and go away.
When rational folks don't have the facts to prove their case,
they search for facts to prove their case,
or else they admit they are wrong.
I will be looking forward to seeing BAH

Nobody has ever discovered the rules governing Potter's apparently
random use of scare quotes.

raises a good point,
but unfortunately, he does not grasp
what one "learns" from googling "tom potter".

I suggest that the first lesson is that
lightning rods are not lightning.

And I suggest that the second lesson is that
the posts by others reveal more about the posters
than they do about the folks they post about.

Which was precisely my point.

As my Pappy used to say:
"You get better information from the horse's mouth,
than you do from a horse's *****."

The third lesson is to get your information
from the source closest to the point of interest.

If anyone wants to know about "tom potter",
or the views of "tom potter", the best way to get this
information is to visit my web site and BLOGs as they
have information that has not gone through
some horses digestive system.

So Potter's own posts to Usenet are not in fact his views, but the
product of an equine alimentary tract? I had often suspected this, but
it's good to have it confirmed.

And I must point out,
that this not only applies to "tom potter",
but it applies to all "lightning rods".

The bottom line is that Richard Herring's post
(LIghtning)
tells you more about Richard Herring,
(Charged cloud)
than it does about "tom potter"
(LIghtning rod).

And by the same token Potter's post tells you more about him than it
does about me.

I am pleased to see that Richard Herring agrees with my position
that a poster's post tells you more about the poster,
than it does about anyone whom they may be trying to flame.
As can be seen by my many posts to the newsgroups,
although I do not preemptively attack posters,
I generally return tic for tat.
If anyone wants to understand Richard Herring,
the best way to start would be to see if he has a web site, as I do,
that shows pictures of him in his natural habitat,
as a 800x600 color picture is worth about 500,000 characters,
or about 100,000 words.
Show the folks Richard Herring in your natural habitat.
Don't force the folks to read all of your flame posts
in order to "flush out" an image of what you are.
Let them get it right from the horse's mouth,
rather than trying to put the bits together from posts,
or from the flame posts by other posters.
The bottom line is,
people are defined first
by how they operate in their natural habitat,
secondly by their words,
and thirdly any efforts to define them by others
is more a reflection of the others than the person.
Define yourself Richie.

This is mostly true. Potter reserves his most vituperative rants for an
entire class of people he seems to have switched to referring to, for no
obvious reason, as "WHO".

I generally return tic for tat.

Indeed he does, if that typo indicates something slightly off the mark.

I care if there is a war between muslims and christians about as
