Halton Arp talks about red-shift in podcast interview |
Halton Arp, interviewed at Electric Politics, talks about his
understanding of red-shift and what that means for cosmology. No Big
Bang, faster than light travel, other interesting consequences.
Now at the Max Planck Institut fur Astrophysik, Halton Arp was for
many years at the pinnacle of the American scientific establishment,
but after 28 years as a staff astrophysicist at Mount Palomar, the
authorities booted him off the telescope for his heretical views. Now
in a sort of self-imposed exile, Arp continues to believe his
observations are correct -- and it's worth noting that he's not just
talking about work done decades ago: he has time on the Max Planck
satellite X-ray telescope and continues to build on his earlier work.

Arp is in the same class as Fred Hoyle, Thomas Gold and Hermann Bondi.

Good physicists who went batshit as time went on?

I love Arp's stuff.
Quasars are red-shifted not by distance
alone but by nature.
Galaxies eject quasars in pairs at 9000 k/sec.
Lots of good stuff.
Supplied me with a photon candidate (quasar)
for my Galaxy Model for the Atom
