Jack,
Your solid He4 superfluid paper is wonderful! You actually once did
something of very great importance - and apparently you didn't realize
this. This paper is a precursor to quantum gravity, and much more
important in that regard than string theory ( you can quote me).

You're right. Tell me more? :-) So let's develop this. Will you be at
the LA APS meeting? They have a session on super solids. David Bergmann
in Israel deserves some of the credit so does Richard Feynman who I
talked to about superfluid helium on and off since 1963 - 69. I wonder
if he is still around? He went back to Tel Aviv. Of course George, that
was when I was still a physics professor at San Diego State before I was
drafted by The Company (?) into Cold War Black/Ops as told in my
auto-biography "Destiny Matrix" on Amazon. You are mentioned in that
book BTW.
I have still a few tricks left up my sleeve not just that one! :-) Also
there was the work with Lenny Susskind and Glogower on the phase
operator at Cornell in 1963. Hans Bethe did not let me attend his elite
Senior Seminar in 1960 for nothing you know along with Peter Goldreich.
Something obviously sunk in. :-)

Jack,
For the record I strongly encourage you to send a letter to Physics
Today pointing out the contributions of yourself and Chester prior to
Leggett.
So the Chester paper is not well-known? Is Leggett's paper considered
the beginning of the history of super solids? As I recall David Bergmann
from Israel helped me on that paper and I spoke with Rudnick & Goodstein
then as well on visits to Feynman. Looks like super solids is getting
important now. I will have to catch up. There is a session on them at
APS March 2005 in LA.
They (Marty Hanna et-al) don't pay attention and don't even want to
know. In any case, I need to look in detail what I actually wrote. I
don't remember what I was thinking back then in detail. I can fax it
over to you it's only a little over a page.

Jack, You should send a letter to Physics Today regarding your priority
with respect to superfluid solid He4. The DeWitt reference is PRL 16,
1092 (1966). This is also discussed in my paper with Pawel gr-qc/0407033

Oh it was 1969. I was at San Diego State - the job you got for me. :-)
There are several other related Physics Letters notes. I can fax them
all to you. Send fax no.
with your prediction of superfluidity in solid He4. Incidentally one
of the differences between superfluid He4 and space-time is that in the
latter case there is a gauge potential due to frame dragging, as was
first pointed out by Bryce DeWitt.
