Where can I learn about how ions move in solution?
Or indeed in other situations like gels, or whatever-the-heck
you call what is inside a dry cell. Or in electrodes such as
in fuel cells. Or in electroplating.
Good books, good journal articles, good web sites, etc., all welcome.

Ionic conductance in electrolytes for small stuff, electrophoresis in
gels for big stuff, reptation for really big stuff in very small
networks. P-chem text. Solid state electrolytes are their own
discipline. alpha-Quartz is ionically conductive along its
crystallographic c-axis, hence swept crystals for radiation-hardened
oscillator crystals. Lithum iodate is ionically conductive along its
c-axis. Lithium nitride has a higher ionic conductivity than water
solutions of lithium ion. alpha-Alumina for sodium conductance, doped
zirconia for oxide conductance, etc.
We also have the first example of an ambient condition-stable
electride from Yamanashi University with excellent electrical
conductivity Cs_x_Si_32_O_64_.
