Thanks for your update on the mood of some of your intellectual
colleagues in Russia today. As you know the political situation is
highly volatile here in California where "The Terminator" of "True
Lies" (sounds Leo Straussian :-)) just took over as Our Leader. Have you
read Sir Martin Rees's book "Our Final Hour"?
Are you aware of the PRAVDA article

I am misrepresented in those reports and I wonder if you have heard
anything on the background for the PRAVDA article?
For the record, contrary to Robert Sheaffer's published remark in the
Sept/Oct 2003 Skeptical Inquirer Letters section I have never, by the
wildest stretch of the imagination, "promoted" stories of crashed alien
flying saucers in Iraq, or that Saddam Hussein had access to such
advanced alien WMD, or that fear of such by the neoconservative faction
of the Bush Administration that planned and carried out the war in Iraq
was a reason for the attack. It is my humble opinion now in hindsight
that Saddam did not have any operational WMD either conventional
nuclear, biological or chemical. Furthermore, I never "promoted" the
idea that Saddam had any operational exotic WMD based on the unified
zero point stress-energy density residual inflation exotic macro-quantum
vacuum local field tuv(x)vac = (c^4/8piG)/\(x)guv(x).
Please circulate my refutation of my reported role in that PRAVDA
article to your colleagues. Thank you.

Mother Earth to leave any further Her destiny in clumsy hands of
shameless & corrupt political demagogues, stupid & greedy capitalists &
destructively thinking members of military establishment. Only
scientists, - which are best of all qualified to understand global
problems on all levels: from geological & ecological to socioeconomic &
psychological, - might be trusted with Stewardship of Earth in these
times of unprecedented Global Crisis. All that scientists & engineers
now need do to take political power (she says) is just to realize their
potential power - and apply their collective willpower in order to
practically realize those ideas in whose truth they sincerely believe.
(This is, of course, "modern remake" of well-known to all educated
Soviets Marxian ideas about "necessity for proletarians to realize their
historic mission" - only Ms Lapayeva now means "intellectual
proletarians": those unemployed members of sometime powerful Soviet
academic & military-industrial-scientific establishment, which had
created the scientific basis of Soviet Global Power - and which now are
sometimes literally starving to death.)
These ideas are very welcome by abovementioned "intellectual
proletarians"; - which resent bitterly criminal & stupidly inefficient
rule of "New Russian oligarchs" - which reduced former global superpower
to a level of international beggar.
"Patriotic faction of intellectual proletarians" says about necessity to
restore former awe-inspiring military power of Russia, - which, in
modern world, can be based only on breakthroughs in Leading Edge
fundamental research. (In this connection there is often mentioned
proposition of V. Korshunov to create an "absolute superweapon", based
on (alleged) discovery by his colleague Dr. I. Shakhparonov of
(allegedly) efficient technology of generation of Dirac's magnetic
monopoles; - which, as had proved already in '80s Dr. V. Rubakov, can
effectuate instant catalytic decay of protons just by contacting them.
Perhaps such decay even may be effectuated with the help of "remote
quantum entanglement": eg, representing some upgrade of technology of
"collective induced entanglement" recently developed by Dr. E. Polzik
from Aarhus Univ., Denmark, - which was used by Russian physicist Dr. V.
Skurlatov already in '60s: see my previous emails. It's known that Dr.
Barchenko - "father of Russian psychotronics" - was charged in '37 with
such crime as "preparation to blow up Kremlin" with rthe help of some
kind of "explosion transference psychotronic technology"; - allegedly
discovered by another Russian Leading Edge researcher M. Filippov
already in 1903. Dr. Filippov had mysteriously died soon thereafter,
taking his secret to grave; - but Barchenko, like Himmler & Edgar Cayce,
allegedly had possessed a kind of "necromantic ability" (which is
scientifically called "ability to read Akashic Archives"), allowing to
recover secrets of dead.)
Is there a technical reference on the allegation " Dr. I. Shakhparonov
of (allegedly) efficient technology of generation of Dirac's magnetic
monopoles" ?
More civilized "democratic faction" calls for widening of contacts with
similarly minded foreign colleagues; - which, as they believe, had
already made considerable progress on the way of establishment of Global
Government of Scientists. (In this connection are remembered made in
1913 efforts of W. Ostwald, WWII (and after)-period efforts of A.
Einstein - which, as it's mentioned on pp. 368-69 of "Man-made UFOs" by
R. Vesco & D. Childres, produced some real success, etc. As highly
significant is regarded by them in this connection a brief but extremely
important remark in publ. in 1982 "White Plague" by F. Herbert; - which
says that, - in order to make a representative of scientific community
The President of USA, - there must be organized a permanent global-scale
biological/genome war.
They regard as fulfilment of this plan publishing in Internet by
researchers of Human Genome Project of complete lists of all "death
genes". It's suspected that this act was made in order to "establish an
alibi": to shift the blame for future "genome holocaust", - about real
danger of which British Assn of Science warned in Jan 1999, - to Moslem
or other terrorists.)
Let's live and see which side wins (or may be they will find a path to
reconciliation) - I cannot do much more in my present very difficult
situation (except, perhaps, to share my concern with sympathetic
colleagues like you & your friends).
