Can we have a complete list of cranks here.
1. Fusioneer
2. Greysky
3. newedena
4. Y.Porat
5. Thomson
6. Ken Seto
7. TomGee
8. Smart Model
9. Retic
10. John Sefton
11. Freddifix (?)
12. (who else)
Ok. Cranks. How many of you have read this book
"Feynman Lectures on Physics 3 Vol set"??
You guys keep committing very basic mistakes that
Heymann kept on correcting. It's very frustrating.
How can you take apart the Standard Model if you
are not veteran in it?? We know the Standard Model
is not complete and something can turn it into a subset.
But to enhance it, we must be adept in the in and
out of Standard Model so as to be able to change
it successfully.
So, I recommened cranks to read up some basic textbooks
such as Feynman's and be familiar with all the concepts
before spewing horse manure as Heymann love to call it.
It's getting frustrating to waste time reading rubbish
every morning.

It's like watching Saturday morning cartoons. Tom isn't a real person,
he's a two-dimensional character with predictable responses. When faced
with novelty, he just forces it into a cliched response about communist
Jews, the cost-effectiveness of relativity, or how everyone is squealing
like a stuck pig except for himself. We might as well be talking to the
cartoons on the TV, because what we get back has about as much relevance
and insight.

It is interesting to see that "Gregory L. Hansen"
asserts that Jews instigated the Class Wars of the 1900's,
and are instigating the Religious Wars of the 2000's.

It's like talking to the TV. It talks back; its answer has nothing to do
with what I've said, but it talks back because that's what TV shows do.

You have failed the Turing test, Tom!

I've snipped the remainder. We've all seen it many times before.

"I've snipped the remainder."
"We've all seen <Gregory L. Hansen> do this many times before",
when he wants to obscure the message.
And of course, We've all seen "Gregory L. Hansen"
attack the messenger, rather than the message,
when the message makes Gregory L. Hansen" feel stupid or insecure.

Yeah, well something weird about Potter's rants about the Bolsheviks and
class wars is that it is almost identical to Russian propaganda from the
late 1800's and early 1900's. Why did people associate the jews with the
Bolsheviks? Mostly because the Bolsheviks didn't actively try to kill the
jews, like the other Russian peasants did during the Pogroms. The other
reason is because Marx was jewish, but y'know what? He was a secular
German jew. Not really much to do with the mostly orthodox russian jews
living very, very far away. Despite what Potter claims, the jews never
took over russia and never were the ones who really started the class
wars. The embittered Russians did that just fine by themselves.

It is interesting to see that "Creighton Hogg"
is not aware of who was central to instigating
the Class Wars of the 1900's,
and who is central to instigating the Religious wars of the 2000's.
And apparently, he is not aware that most of the power positions in Russia
after the Russian Revolution, were occupied by Jews,
and that the first law they made,
made it a capital offense to speak negatively of Jews.
It is interesting to see
that after the native Russians regained control of their government
that millions of the war-for-profit gang
migrated to Israel and New York,
from where they are desperately trying
to get the Religious Wars going,
as the loot from the Class Wars is almost gone.
But as "Creighton Hogg" implies,
the war-for-profit Jews are "secular" Jews,
not "orthodox" Jews.

cranks on sci.physics are simply people outside the mainstream.
Of course, a good deal of the people on the list are just plain wrong
and in many cases chronically clueless, but before you judge the
perspectives of anyone, wether they are on the list or not, you should
give them the minimal courtesy of learning about their perspective. If
you can formulate relevant and direct objections, and they cannot
respond to the criticism with some intelligence, then they might be a
crank.
Anyone that disagrees that conclusions should not be drawn before a
point of view is reviewed, understood, and then demonstrated to be
critically flawed, is a hostile enemy of the open society.

crank.

And when the "chronically clueless" (your words) react by dismissing an
observation that contradicts their pet theory by insulting and claiming
the person citing empirical data is a religious drone--Greenfield and
Potter come to mind--what then?

As my pappy used to say:
"A stuck pig squeals."
Maybe I should quit "sticking" Wormley,
so he will quit bushwhacking me,
and I won't have to respond to his childish insults.
It is interesting to observe that Sam Wormley lies
(As he commonly does.)
when he asserts that I
"claim the person citing empirical data is a religious drone."
I challenge Sam Wormy
to post proof that would allow him
to rationalize this lie.
No phony references.
No wild goose chases.
Real proof.
Don't hold your breath expecting proof from Sam
about his assertions.

One calls the other childish, and then the other calls the one

It seems that you're both right to me.
