"Enjoin" is the third one, which I couldn't remember, but the other two
aren't on that list, so my puzzle still stands. Another hint is that the
other two words are of the same degree of linguistic complexity and common-
ness as "enjoin." They're both words that you don't hear very often, but
you occasionally see them in a newspaper or magazine article by someone
facile with the use of what Ben Grimm calls "fifty dollar words." Also,
they are not obscure or obsolete, Shakesperean or Chaucerian English.

Not all of those are correct.
a.. help - assist, prevent (e.g., "I can't help it if...")
The example given says "I can NOT help..."
"I can assist, I can prevent" is not equivalent to "I can help, I can help".
I can assist. I can NOT prevent.
I can NOT assist. I can prevent.
Thus 'help' not a contronym.
a.. dollop - a large amount, a small amount
A dollop is an amount without the adjective.
A dollop of ice cream can be large or small but is still as dollop.
The connotation of a dollop applies to a viscous fluid.
A dollop of iron -- nah. A dollop of molten iron - ok.
Not a contronym.
a.. deceptively smart - smarter than one appears, dumber than one appears
That's two words. Not a contronym.
sanguine - hopeful, murderous (obsolete synonym for "sanguinary")
Just plain wrong. The dictionary gives:
1 : BLOODRED
2 a : consisting of or relating to blood b : BLOODTHIRSTY, SANGUINARY c of
the complexion : RUDDY
3 : having blood as the predominating bodily humor; also : having the bodily
conformation and temperament held characteristic of such predominance and
marked by sturdiness, high color, and cheerfulness
4 : CONFIDENT, OPTIMISTIC
: Another: What is the word which yields the largest number of known
: words, by simply changing 1 letter in 1 fixed place?
:
: [example: bAd bEd bUd bID ... ]
Another:
A "Scrabble" player likes to hold what seven letters for a 7-letter
bonus word?
