stage If I want to build a mhd turbine for motorcycles or cars , how
can I find detailed calculations of mhd compressor making ?
Is mhd compressor is the same thing with accelerator ?
Why car makers dont use mhd compressors as turbo or other configs.
Can a conventional generator like apparatus produce enough electric
for this application ? Or Do I need to put a mhd generator ?
Most attempts at using MHD with open loop gas systems (that's gas
as in the phase not the American term for a liquid fuel)
have run into the problem of corrosion of the electrodes. When the
gas is hot enough to conduct it is also very reactive. Seeding the
gas to make it more conductive often also makes it more reactive.
The places MHD has worked well is with non-ionicly conducting liquids
such as liquid sodium in fast breeder reactors and closed loop
inert gases such as the helium toppers used in multicycle generation
of electricity
