No they're actually the ones who're trying to become
"modern". Practicing Moslems have to be very clean all the
time. You can't pray (five times a day - different times)
unless you are very clean. They're almost paranoid about
this.
Check out the number of public bathrooms, in each street, in
South and mid Spain during Moslem rule. They all went
abandoned and/or destroyed when you "clean" Christians and
Jews arrived.
In Tehran, up until mid 1800s the Jewish quarter was filled
so badly with stink and filth that a city ordinance had to
relegate the nifty-paying job of handling the garbage to the
Jews themselves amid harsh unemployment times. They'd gotten
tired of cleaning after them with no respite in sight.
"Garbage" for the jewish neighbors that I can recall, was
something that could be thrown over the walls surrounding
the house, into any area outside that house. This was mid
60s, honey. 40 years after they'd been given the run of the
country. 2700 years of coexistence with the clean
Zoroasterians and Moslems had not even touched their habits.

I have also heard that practicing Jews have sex with their
