Nanotube resonators break gigahertz barrier (Aug 31)
http://physicsweb.org/article/news/10/8/21
Physicists in the US have created nanoelectromechanical system (NEMS)
resonators that achieve self-detectable mechanical resonance at
frequencies greater than 1.3 GHz. Based on a carbon nanotube (CNT)
structure, the devices can operate at room temperature and in air at
atmospheric pressure.
