OT - Industrial accidents |
I've been collecting pictures of accidents for a while. Finally
decided I had enough of 'em to make a web page about being careful.
http://home.alltel.net/trapezium/Essays/Knocks.htm
I could use more. If anyone has any pictures of similarly spectacular
mishaps ("anomalies" in NASA-speak) that you feel like sharing, I
would be grateful if you'd allow me to post them on my accidents page.
Thank you.

Your leading NASA "anomaly" was done by the book. It was perfectly
documented. Every worker executed his exact job description. Nobody
was assigned to check the thing was bolted own. To have then done so
would be discharge for cause (insubordination). Why is there a
problem?
Note that a Gulf War II military fuel crew cannibalized unused and
unclaimed equipment to ship more than a million gallons through
actively hostile territory. They were all courtmartialed and
imprisoned, of course. Their job was not to keep soldiers at the
other end supplied and alive no matter what, their job was to follow
orders. If orders say to convoy unfilled tankers back and fourth, you
do it and do not question superior officers.
Note that the utterly bolluxed and FUBARed Normady landing, WWII,
succeeded only because nobody woke up Hitler to tell him it was on.
Local commanders were scared shitless to redeploy to meet the allies
without issued orders; the German High Command as not about to
potentially ***** off Hitler. Meanwhile, a bunch of vomit-covered
Americans led by seargents hit the beaches, ran in like all Hell, and
killed everything forward of their muzzles anyway they could. We have
effectively outlawed that kind of winning endeavor now, Safety Net to
bicycle riding. If you suffer a home invasion roobery, dial 911 and
supply details as requested. Shooting back is hate crime.

I checked around your home page and noticed your

I know about scientific truth and liberty but you need more
than the cartoon figure you've drawn above your motto to
describe to me what you mean you intend to defend as the
American way.
See, I just want to size up the extent and boundaries of the
tribe you think you belong.

America: Two continents (North and South) mainly attached by the short
hairs (Central). Lots of tribes. Not sure who thinks they can speak for
all of them. Pretty sure not some bloke from Texas.
Not sure how good his Portugese is...

I lived in Texas for many years.
*No* native Texan can speak Portugese. You should hear what they do to
Mexican Spanish (and they hear it all the time)!

Who says that? I lived in Texas, and I learned Portugese
before I ever knew what Mexican (Spanish) was. Due mostly to
a Brazilian girl who blew my university plans :-)
