parallel straight lines in bent space |
Hi!
There is the opinion that light get's "bent" near masses because the
masses bend space and light travels straight. So I wonder, if 2 rays
of light travel parallel to each other and past each side of a mass
and subsequently their paths cross, do they still travel parallel?
Does the path of light deviate from straight lines near masses? Does
it still travel straight? Are straight lines bent near masses and
can they cross while still being parallel (in finite space)?

Her last employer acted the same way... it's pretty universal with her.
At her last rehab/incarceration, she was literally tortured.
Besides... why do you think she stayed with me for so long ?
I was her best option.
It's kind of sad really... the homeless. They steal, mooch, etc.
Why they don't have better activities to engage in, I don't know.
The economy sucks, and there are too many people... maybe that's it.
At least the poor aren't addicted to high living, jetting around, etc.
A drug addict is much softer on the environment than a fuel/money addict.

Somebody wants to get from A to C. He can do so either
via B or via D. Both are a distance of 10 units.
The fact that he takes only one path does not
imply that there is only one shortest path between
A and C.
You stated a given photon follows only one geodesic,
and seem to believe that proves that only one
geodesic can exist between two points.

I sincerely doubt that there are ever two paths a photon could follow,
given an accurate enough measurement, one path is sure to be shorter.
