Scott Anderson, founder of Anderson Physics Laboratory (later known as
APL Engineered Materials) passed away over the weekend of Oct 1, 2006.
Scott developed purification techniques and a system of creating
uniform spheres of blended metal halide salts. These were instrumental
in the development of the metal halide lamp. APL engineered materials
produces the majority of these materials used in nearly every discharge
lamp in the world.
Scott will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on
in nearly every parking lot, gymnasium, stadium, and on the front of
many cars.
