Several graduate research assistantships in Theoretical/Computational
Condensed Matter Physics are available at Physics Department,
University of South Florida. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates
with strong background in mathematics and theoretical physics.
The research interests of our group involve a broad spectrum of
challenging problems in condensed matter and materials physics
including electron transport in condensed matter and molecular systems,
behavior of matter at extreme conditions, and development of novel
theoretical/simulation techniques for atomistic modeling of materials.
Candidates should have a B.S. or M.S in physics or closely related
fields, and good communication skills (oral and written) in English.
Details of graduate degree requirements and the application procedure
may be obtained by writing to Prof. Ivan Oleynik at
oleynik(at)shell.cas.usf.edu.
There is a possibility to start the PhD studies at USF in Spring 2007
semester. Therefore, interested candidates should apply as soon as
possible.
