Physicists in Canada are the first to use laser light as a catalyst to
control chemical reactions. The technique could prove to be an important
tool for manipulating the properties of matter at the molecular level.

lasers are the wonder of the 21 century. in time they will be use for
almost
anything. for curing desease, modifing DNA structure
and, when the time comes, for a whole new way to travel.

By that time _your_ strand would want to hide, not
travel.

Lasers are actially doodley squat.
Since fiber optics will be rememberd as the
that technology which converted Canada
from it's moron AT&T history into a quasi-scientific nation.

A laser provides the needed illumination to bring about the Xeno
Effect. This might be enough, for instance, to stop a muon dead in its
tracks (for a while) from decaying. An application, for instance, is to
get the muons to be around long enough to become effective in
muon-catalysed cold fusion (i.e. the "other" cold fusion, the one
that's been long discussed in the literature and even featured in
cameos in sci fi classics such as the 2001/2010/2060/3001 quadrilogy).

Well, that's the cold fusion that works though,
Since it works well in Voyager.
The other fusin that physicists do, is
Nevada moron *****, rather than fusion.
