Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Bronx, NY 10461
Dr. Zhang's group in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at
Albert Einstein College of Medicine mainly uses single-molecule
techniques, such as optical tweezers and atomic force microscopy, to
study dynamics of molecular motors and macromolecular assemblies.
Current interests include mechanisms of chromatin remodeling, dynamics
of nucleosomes and chromatin, and kinetics of protein folding. Two
postdoctoral positions are available for strongly motivated individuals
who are willing to work in a highly interdisciplinary environment:
(1) Physicists or engineers with strong backgrounds in optics,
electronics, computer control, and instrumentation.
(2) Molecular biologists, biophysicists, or biochemists with expertise
in molecular cloning and protein purification. Research experience
about nucleosomes and chromatin is preferred.
The two positions start in December 2006 or early 2007. Candidates must
have completed PhD at the time of appointment. Salary is commensurate
with experience.
