If you were falling into a black hole; I don't really
believe in a black hole; but if you were falling into the
extreme of gravity your time would slow down.
But to you you wouldn't notice. This not being able
to notice relative to yourself is "proper" time.
When in all actuallity everything else you will
see where gravity's time is faster will appear
to you "blueshifted." So you can tell your time
is slower than theirs.
This far I can follow you.
The slowdown of time in gravity is not relative.
As Einstein said "The patterns of curved space-time
around mass are absolute."
So proper time really isn't a rate of time at all.
If it was it couldn't be going any faster than the slow
time of gravity. Remember it doesn't matter if
you are moving (falling) in gravity for the slowdown.
Here you lost me.

"Proper time" is not a time rate at all.
It is just the appearance of time for you.
If you accelerate or enter greater gravity
your time will go slower but you couldn't tell
from the experience of yourself. That's proper
time. But you could tell the difference by looking
at things whose time is going faster. They would
be blueshifted.
Interseting the predictions of the end of time make
no sense. The end of time would negate any "proper"
time whatsoever. Therefore I say No End of Time!!!
