From Osher Doctorow

He and Rozali's 2007 paper discusses non-perturbative instabilities
mediated by bubles of nothing in AdS/CFT correspondence. They study
phase diagrams of decays and relate things to effective QM potentials
of one variable and winding mode condensate.
A conventional first order transition corresponds to the decay, with
the true vacuum being a non-geometric state of "nothing".
The authors consider their analysis as evidence for the conjecture in
previous papers that tachyon condensation ends at a state which is the
bubble of nothing, inside the bubble being the true vacuum or "nothing
state" that is a winding mode condensate which is fundamentally string
type with no spacetime interpretation of conventional type.
Rozali has 30 papers in arXiv, from 1994 through 2007. His coauthor
He has 2 papers in arXiv.
