Maria Sakellariadou, presently and since 2005 at King's
College of U. London England U.K., has an arguably
fascinating paper in arXiv, "Production of topological
defects at the end of inflation," hep-th/0701298 v1 31 Jan
2007, 10 pages. Her first name is spelled differently or
even initialled depending on which nation she's in or
visiting, including M., Maria, Mairi, and I think that she
was using M. in this particular paper. She has 47 papers
in arXiv from 1992 through 2007, of which a surprisingly
high number appeared in Phys. Rev. D over the years.
The paper is arguably interesting in several ways:
1) it relates cosmic strings to Stochastic (Probabilistic)
scenarios
2) it has quite a few additive form equations
3) it makes use of the latest observational data and gives
clear criteria for interpreting future observations in terms
of which predictions are favored
4) it is highly interdisciplinary and cross-theory and intra-
disciplinary, including comparison of braneworld cosmology
models and SUSY GUTs
One interesting equation is:
5) C_l = aC_1l + (1 - a)C_sl
in my terminology, where the angular power spectrum
C_l is a weighted sum of respectively (COBE normalized)
Legendre coefficients C_1l due to adiabatic inflaton fluctuations
and C_sl due to cosmic string network with "a" a free
parameter giving the relative amplitude for the two
contributions. Comparing this with data from the most
recent CMB measurements allows one to impose constraints
on parameters of the more detailed model(s) such as
symmetry breaking scale M, superpotential coupling kappa,
etc.
