Quantum pretty funny |
'The crucial feature of atomic physics is that the human observer is not
only necessary to observe the properties of an object, but is necessary
even to define these properties. In atomic physics, we cannot talk about
the properties of an object as such. They are only meaningful in the
context of the object's interaction with the observer. In the words of
Heisenberg "What we observe is not nature itself, but nature exposed to
our method of questioning."13 Tao of Physics p140 Fritjof Capra
Pretty funny because of all the noise physicists make about discovering
the simple fact of duality. This is like kindergarten stuff. Easily
impressed. Square One in yoga is duality. If you don't know that you are
totally ignorant/have no clue. First of all Capra identifies the fact
that Perceiver can not be separated from Perceived. But this is the most
rudimentary knowledge there is in psychology (constancy/distal
cues/proximal cues/Gestalt grouping/the phi phenomean or apparent
motion). Our senses do not simply provide the 'physics of the
situation'. We 'add order' to the universe as we perceive it. 'We see
what we expect to see.' Observer created reality.' This is not only not
new, it is boring.
Secondly, and more importantly, the only way you can know anything AT
ALL is by relating one thing to another. This seems to be a real
mind-blower to physicists. Someday they will go off the deep end when
they discover that I did not stutter and that YOU can not exist except
as related to other things and conditions in the universe. 'You' owe
your very existence to the universe by virtue of the fact that if you
had nothing with which to compare yourself to, you could tell me
absolutely NOTHING. The 'you' that you believe to be you - you likely do
not know AT ALL. The 'you' that you think you are actually has no
independent existence whatsoever and in fact this is NOT you at all. (go
ahead make my day I can easily elaborate this. :)
Everything you as a mind know or ever has been known or ever will be
known is by agreement/convention. Nothing in the universe is absolutely.
Nothing in the universe can be experienced by 2 people exactly ever.
Only agreements on attributes of matter are possible. This is because
everyone has been brought up differently/has different
memories/perspectives from all other peoples. No matter what it is that
is agreed upon, at some number of places past the decimal point everyone
of necessity must disagree.
Nothing can be known by the mind without something to compare it with.
The fact that all things in the universe CAN be related to all other
things in the universe - never should have been in question. But just
because you can, does not mean it is productive to do so. You can look
for components of tuba waves in traffic noise also and they will be
found. What do tuba waves have to do with traffic noise - Nothing. (Nick
Herbert Quantum Reality example) But tuba wave analysis of traffic noise
may be conducted simply because we live in a tuba wave universe.
Besides, it is just as good to analyze traffic noise in terms of tuba
waves as it is to those idiots over there in the Piano wave universe
using piano waves...... :)
Further, he talks about 'consciousness.' Another loaded term for
physicists and the world in general. In the west where the highly
mistaken notion that only the external world is real - words like this
are badly abused and miss-used. In this NG like most others for example,
I would be hard pressed to find someone that does not use the terms mind
and consciousness synonymously. Or ego or intellect or the difference
between perception and conception. All these words can be looked up but
that is useless because their meanings are so vague.
Using statistcs instead of exact deterministic equations? Live with it -
so is the rest of the world and has been for a long long time. Insurance
agencies and casino's bank on probability.
'Interconnectedness?' Gravity affects all particles in the universe
also. The Big Bang created space and time and space is not empty.
Thought for food or something like that.

Dig in a manure pit and you dig up *****. Why is this a surprise?
Uncle Al equivalent understanding of duality ----
***** happens.
Scholarly works omit the phrase "An Exploration of the Parallels
Between Modern Physics and Uncle Al."
True dat.

Uncle Al's last birthday suprise party song. (They knew he would
not get it cause he would analyze it by listening to it one note at
a time to attempt to understand it in true reductionist fashion. :)

Hi Mike Dubbeld , you wrote :
" Thought for food or something like that . "
That was an enjoyable read . I didn't notice any errors .
But I also didn't see much worth commenting on .
