Fascinating and eerie... tj Frazir has great stories about it.

Grab two quartz pebbles. White round lumps are entirely OK.
Go into a completely dark room, let your eyes adjust for 15 minutes.
Wang the together tap tap tap. Do you see the light flashes?
[Rusty to Al]
haven't tried this. For the sake of discussion let's say this works as
you say. Then is this light phenomenon from the piezo-electric effect?
Or...?
[hanson]
Yes it, works... just as instructed... To boot it is observed on a truly
vast scale when lots of rocks/pebbles rub/wang/bang together. The
entire sky lights up from the piezoelectric effects during earthquakes.
Google: 50,100 hits for -[ piezoelectric earthquake light ]-.

An intelligently designed organism would do it with recyclable
engineering not consummables chemistry. All life arose from Divine
breath inflating clay, didn't it? That is why all terrestrial
biochemistry is based upon aluminosilicates not proteins. The protein
stuff was put in there by the Devil to fool you. (Test of faith!)
[hanson]
.... ahahaha... Don't be so sarcastic about that, and be more
precise by saying that there maybe a chance that "life" may have
evolved by/thru the presence/interaction of aluminosilicates/zeolites
that acted as templates or catalysts for amino acids and proteins
to form the basis for the emergence/advent of life. But I don't think
that any experiment has actually shown yet that to be the case.

I live about 700 meters from the Pacific Ocean in the city
of Long Beach, California. When the "red tide" comes in
it is a popular pastime here to watch the waves on the beach
at night. The biochemilumenescent display of light is remarkable.
Where the incoming waves churn and fall onto the sand and
where the resulting oxygenated foam accumulates there glows
a most beautiful soft green to soft blue light.
It is like nothing I have ever seen.
The seasonal "red tide" is a bloom of micro organisms that can be
harmful to the fish. And it makes recreational swimming less of an
enjoyable activity. It's saving grace is the nocturnal gift of it's
heavenly light.

True, it is spectacular, that ice blue shimmer which comes off the
breakers. I have seen it only once on the Westcoast when I flew
in to visit our operations & stayed in my company suite in La Jolla.

I have often wondered if it might have been catalytic
metal dust originating from inland ores, transported by
rivers and ending up as deposits on volcanic pumice
located in marine tidal zones...or was that "Twilight Zones...?"
Rusty Oxhide :-)

No, No TZ. To me, this type of scenario is a very plausible
one, ..... barring the latest hot conjecture, by finding weekly
a few more new planets, that life may be truly everywhere
in the cosmos & giving that old "Panspermia" idea new life.
This is a very exiting field of interest & if so may dethrone
the heads of terrestrial theism and hopefully empty the
churches, synagogues & mosques where the people have
been lied to and fucked over for eons.... ahahaha....
Good talking with you, Rusty,

I recall bathing ( at night ) in a rock-lined hot spring
that abutted an incoming tide... heating and cooling us in waves.
The water glowed red with tiny stars everytime we swished our hands.
My girfriend, Jessica ( and other people, including chicks )
were all buck-naked.
We had flown in from Hot Springs Cove, Vancouver Island B.C.,
to First Nation land, via sea plane.
We drank, smoked hash and dined on freshly harvested giant barnicles
as we talked to the harvester ( a diver ) on his boat.
Jessica even fucked me on a ferry, getting applause at the end.
She was on top as I sat, her long jacket hid our skin.
Whoo... Jessica... Many stories there, out in the woods,
in a rain forest, at snow-capped mountain peaks, the coast of Oregon
and around the San Juans, in many natural hot springs,
outdoor jacuzzies, alone and in groups, high and low... Hiking naked.
She loved to ***** and didn't care who was watching.

and meaning you are describing here.
Cherish those memories.

All well and good, but remember...
1) When the clocks shift an hour forward each Spring, the GPS =
constellation
jumps out to an orbit near Saturn, 1 light hour away, and jump back =
again
each Autumn.
2) Uncle Stooopid believes that GPS clocks gain, even if they
are five hours wrong by EST and 8 hours wrong by PST. (Test of faith!)
3) Chirality is the key to proving/disproving GR. Uncle Stoopid's brain

4) It only takes Einstein to fool Uncle Stooopid. Maybe Einstein is the =
