In his own ham-handed and blundering way, the President of the United
States sincerely sees what he is doing over there as purely, strictly
and absolutely an act of national self-defense. Go on, lie about it,
jump up and down and tear your shirt as you scream about oil profits
till you've got petroleum pouring from your pores, but that's just how
he and a great many Americans very clearly see it.

Yeah, clearly Iraq (if that's what you mean by "over there"), was a
serious enemy capable of threatening this super-power. Clearly
Fallujah is vital to the security of Kansas, in your world. We aren't

That's how Bush and I and many others see no distinction between Al
Qaida, the Ba'athists and the Shia, because they have all long been
