Exactly what I think. And the frequency is that
of the Aether.

It is easy to see why Uncle Al is the way he is.
In order to communicate, the participants in a conversation must have a few
things in common, like the definition of words. There is a lot posting in
the newsgroup about the various kinds of things an Aether may be, but they
all relate to a fundamental property. Aether is a medium where things are
supported and things happen. It does not have a frequency of its own.
I am part of the community that is very conferrable with the theories of
relativity and Quantum Mechanics, which do not require the existence of an
Aether and believe that the concept is a hindrance to understanding what is
really going on. I know what it is suppose to be, just in case I stumble
over it in an observation. It is people like you who don't know what it is
or use the word glibly, that amplifies the problems for people that are
reaching at straws trying to understand how the universe works.
Because there isn't a perfect model of the universe, at this time even Uncle
Al fits in the group that is trying to gain a better understanding of how
things work. Unfortunately, your posting shows that YOU have so much
further to go. Even if you do have a perfect understanding the workings of
the Universe with an Aether, you could not communicate it because your
definition is so sloppy.

Supposing there was an aether, we'd expect it to quantize like anything
else, so yes, it could relate a quantity of energy to a (not "the")
frequency excited in an (not necessarily "the") aether.
DoBroglie's relation applies to any particle, not just photons. It does
not depend on the concept of an aether, although it can certainly apply to
an aether.
