Toshiba presents first methanol mp3 players, 35 and 60 hours on a refill"

Yes, yes, your new iPod nano is very cool. But wouldn't it be just that
much cooler if you could recharge it with a small bottle of clear
liquid? It might happen: Toshiba and other Japanese electronics firms
are developing itty-bitty fuel cells to juice up portable gadgets.
Unlike batteries, fuel cells contain few hazardous chemicals and metals
and generate rather than just store electricity. Toshiba says its fuel
cells for cell phones will run about twice as long as the average
lithium-ion battery and recharge on the run with methanol. Developers
say perfecting such small-scale applications is a step toward figuring
out how to economically use fuel cells for bigger applications like
cars and homes. "We're starting with as small an application as we can
and keeping costs low," says Toshiba tech chief Fumio Ueno, whose lab
has developed the world's smallest fuel cell to date. "We think it's
better to start that way and grow into larger applications."

Now if only we could do this with something a little less explosive than
methanol. But a step in the right direction!

[hanson]
ahaha... what is this "we" *****? ... and what is your right direction?...
.... towards the LEFT?... into the Green on far side of the hill?
BTW, there is not any discernable difference from a practical pov
between Methanol, Gasoline or Vodka. Any of their fumes: kaboom!
So, what are your "little less explosive" suggestions?... sugar water
or sunflower oil will work too... but first you and all you little green
idiots will have dig into your piggy-banks and invest into the research
of such items, because your permit charges, user fees, enviro-
and the Kydioto carbon tax simply ain't gonna do it.... ahahaha...

Stupid Green fucks simply don't want to admit the blatantly
obvious correlation that any "fuel" must by definition be dangerous
because it contains stored energy.
If they won't get past that how do you expect anything better of
them?

ahahaha... you are a gentle man, Mark. Others have expressed far
sterner and more drastic ideas like this one here, who had enough
from environmentalism and began to raise his voice in his posts
news:d8j4df01n0o@enews1.newsguy.com... wherein it says:
************* "Fucking greens should be shot...." *****************
I'd be content with just taking all enviro grants off the table & reducing
the budgets for all green agencies, from EPA down, annually by 99%
because *** environmentalism is nothing but green pornography ***.
